COPS Finishes Among The Elite
The City of Plano Swimmers finished the 2008 Short Course season 10th in the USA Swimming Toyota Virtual Club Championships. The team moved up from 12th place for the 2007 Long Course season and 17th after the 2007 Short Course season. It has been a goal this year to finish in the top 10. The top 20 consists of some of the most dominant and historic teams in USA Swimming. It has been a great season and everyone should be congratulated on all of their hard work! Way to go COPS! COPS Finishes 3rd at 2008 Short Course TAGS

The City of Plano Swimmers swam past the field to claim a 3rd place finish at short course TAGS. Premier Aquatic team finished 1st with 597 points, First Colony finished 2nd with 631 points, and COPS finished 3rd with 597 points. The COPS girls team finished 4th and the boys team finished 2nd in the final rankings. The Loos Natatorium stands were at full capacity for the entire weekend and the atmosphere was electric! Numerous state and National records fell during the weekend event. The 13-14 year old boys 800 Free Relay team kicked off the meet on Thursday night with a new National Record. What a great finish to the season and congratulations to everyone who swam at TAGS!

COPS Swimmers Take Greater Southwest Title

The City of Plano Swimmers hosted the 26th Annual Greater Southwest Invitational February 1st – 3rd and won in convincing fashion. Every year COPS battles with The Kansas City Blazers for the silver boot trophy. COPS brought the boot home after a dominating performance during the three day event. Teams from all over the southwestern US come to compete against the best teams in Texas. The meet included several Olympic Trails and Senior National qualifying times.

COPS finished with 2738.5 points. The Kansas City Blazers finished in the second place spot with 1619 points. The North Texas Nadadores finished third overall and the second highest finishing North Texas team with 1339.5 points.

COPS Finishes A Very Close 2nd At B/C Champs

COPS finished 9.5 points out of the first place position at the B/C Championships held at the LISD Natatorium. LAC finished the meet with 936 points and COPS was a close second with 926.5 points. COPS swimmers made many more BB/A times throughout the weekend. The meet finished a very successful season for our B/C swimmers. The future of the team looks bright! Congratulations to all of our B/C swimmers and keep up the hard work!

COPS Dominates “BB” Champs

The City of Plano Swimmers finished with 874 points winning the 2008 North Texas LSC “BB” Champs. A large number of “A” times and best times were achieved during the weekend. COPS finished 139 points ahead of LAC and over 300 points ahead of Metro. Congratulations to all new “A” swimmers and great job COPS!

COPS Finishes LSC Competition With A BANG!

The City of Plano Swimmers finished over 400 points ahead of the 2nd place team at the North Texas “A” Champs meet hosted by the Dallas Mustangs. The meet was held at the Loos Aquatic Center on February 15th – 17th. This was the last chance for all swimmers to qualify for TAGS and Sectionals. COPS swimmers dominated the field and made many new qualifying times. Congratulations to everyone who made their cuts and way to go COPS!

COPS Senior Swimmers Finish Strong at 2008 Texas Sectionals

COPS senior swimmers finished their season at the Speedo Spring Sectional Championships in College Station, Texas. The meet was held on Feb 28th – March 2nd and hosted by Ags Swim Club. Teams from around the country as well as international teams converged on the campus of Texas A&M to compete against the best in Texas. The meet did not disappoint! Olympic Trails, Senior National, and Junior National qualifying times rained down throughout the meet. Meet records were being set at a blistering pace and the crowd was in a constant uproar!
