Why Water
Safety Matters
-
Drowning is the leading cause of death for children under 4, and the second leading cause of death for children ages 5-18.
-
Meanwhile, swim lessons reduce a child's risk of drowning by 88%.
We believe every child should have access to life-saving swim lessons.

In Plano and surrounding areas, access to swim lessons is limited:

-
We estimate that less than 5% of local youth have access to affordable swim lessons.
-
Demand for our program far exceeds capacity, with waitlists of 100+ children that refill almost immediately.
The Gap in Our Community

How We're Helping
City of Plano Swimmers is already:
-
Providing swim lessons to 300+ children every week
-
Offering lessons at half the cost of for-profit alternatives
-
Building a new pool in Plano that will allow us to offer 1,000 new swim lessons every month.

Give a Lesson,
Save a Life
City of Plano Swimmers has launched Give a Lesson, Save a Life to provide:
-
100 free swim lessons on June 25th, during the World's Largest Swim Lesson event.
-
12 weeks of swim lessons for underserved youth in our community.
-
A new pool in Plano that can provide 1,000 new lessons every month for North Texas residents.
This campaign expands access to life-saving swim instruction; addressing the urgent need for swim lessons in our community today and for years to come.
